USBDriveFresher Online Help
Keep your USB drive clean by removing unwanted files automatically and according to rules you specify.
Originally, USBDriveFresher is designed for users who uses USB flash drive (Thumb drive) or other external hard drive between
Mac OS X and Windows computers. Mac OS X will automatically create a folder for the trash (.Trashes), the windows equivalant of the
recycle bin.
The Spotlight (.Spotlight-V100) folder will also be created as well when the drive is connected to the Mac OS X system as it
will begin indexing the files on the drive for the spotlight system. With USBDriveFresher you never have to remove that
folders manually. Save even more time, by setting up your specific rules for unwanted files.

User Interface
Once USBDriveFresher has been installed on your computer you will see an icon in the system tray. If you left
click on the icon you are presented with a screen that gives you three options:
- Cleanup USB Memory Drive Now
- Cleanup All USB Memory Drives Now
- Custom Cleanup

The first two options are self-explanatory. The custom cleanup option is provided in case you want to clean a different
drive or folder on your computer using the rules specified in the configuration (discussed below).
To set up the options for cleaning USB drives either select the USBDriveFresher/Options menu item from the main USBDriveFresher
window or select options after right clicking on the system tray icon.
The user interface of the USBDriveFresher utility includes several options the user may toggle on or off by checking the
appropriate boxes. These include:

- Run at Windows Startup - do you wish the program to start whenever Windows starts or do you wish to
manually start USBDriveFresher. If you leave this box unchecked you will need to manually start USBDriveFresher each
time you wish to use it.
- Run hidden – do you want users to be able to see that USBDriveFresher is running? If you
leave this box unchecked users can see USBDriveFresher's Main screen along eith the system tray icon.
- Automatically cleanup USB Drive when connected – if you check this box then the utility will
automatically clean every USB Drive that is entered into this computer. If you do not wish this to happen leave the box unchecked.
- Silent auto-cleanup – check this box to perform the automatic cleanup without any user notigications/screens

The user interface of the USBDriveFresher utility also includes a large box in the center of the screen that lists the rules used
for cleanup. You may add filenames or patterns to these rules by clicking the “Add” button and typing in the filename or part or
pattern. You may edit existing rules by highlighting the rule you wish to modify, clicking the “Modify” button and modifying the
filename or part or pattern in the box. Finally, you may remove a rule by highlighting the rule you wish to remove and clicking
the “Remove” button.
